Hi I am a year 8 (grade 7) student and I am studying biomes. My biome is temperate grasslands. A biome is a community of trees, plants, animals and insects living in a certain environment. The living things in a biome are closely attached together and depend on the land, water and air for their survival. Biomes vary in size from a small pond to a huge area of a forest, which could stretch across a continent.
The temperate grasslands have lots of types of grasses of different sizes , colors, and adaptations . You could possibly see many miles of grass non-stop. All the grasses are usually more than 1 foot tall. The temperate grasslands are huge waves of grass. It is also very dry and there are few trees. This website will tell you much more about temperate grasslands.
